Architecture

The multi-functional complex Au Pont Rouge is designed in styles of classic architecture of Saint Petersburg center: from eclectic to modern.

Except full reconstruction of the facades and interiors forfeited at 30s of the past century important artistic details were reconstructed — an atrium and a modern dome with a spire of 28 meters height with its top mark of 52 meters.

The Shopping Mall Building Au Pont Rouge (building 73) exceled at large sizes, metric design of frame structure and huge areas of glazing. Because of large sizes, the dome with the spire and angular position it had very strong influence on architectural space forming of the city center, was an observable vertical accent and was one of the four altitude keynote of Saint Petersburg together with the Admiralty, St. Isaac Cathedral and Peter-Paul Fortress.

The esthetically interpreted frame structure has been a basis of innovatory architectural decision. General impression of clear construction was completed with elegant stucco on top of the facades. For the building creation architects were using so popular for those times frolar motives and deflected forms. Neither the main part of the building designed in clear geometric forms to fulfill its forming potential.

With its organic forms the complex improves landscape of Moika river embankment and Gorokhovaya street.

The project combines front esthetics of old city and the newest engineering decisions.
